Two anniversaries, two revolutions that live on today!
Two anniversaries, two revolutions that live on today!

This September takes us back to two milestones that, as you well know, forever changed the history of video games.

First come the chills when we remember the arrival of the Game Boy in Europe… 35 years ago.

Because it was THE companion of an entire generation! Imagined by Gunpei Yokoi and Satoru Okada, it helped democratize gaming like never before, bringing legendary titles such as Tetris, Mario, and Zelda on the go, while giving birth to iconic series like Wario, Pokémon, and Kirby.
The promise of being able to play anywhere, anytime — 118 million units sold later — has truly been kept!
Nintendo’s monochrome handheld was gaming magic in your pocket, able to keep us hooked for hours in the schoolyard, under the covers, in the backseat on road trips, or during long train journeys… with battery life being the only limit.
Like us, you’ve surely kept your Game Boy safe and sound, ready to bring it out for nostalgic retrogaming sessions, moments of sharing, and the pure joy of play. The success of La Bible Game Boy, the tribute book we released 12 years ago, is perhaps the best proof of this incredible, ever-living love.

No downtime in the 90s: in 1995, it was the PlayStation’s turn to arrive in Europe.

Yes, it’s already been 30 years — even if it feels so recent — since Sony’s iconic gray console, imagined by the brilliant Ken Kutaragi, reshaped the gaming landscape with its groundbreaking 3D that left us in awe, its CD-ROMs still filling our shelves, its ergonomic controllers that so often ended up flying across the room … And above all, with games that became instant classics: Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Gran Turismo, Wipeout, or Silent Hill — the latter having just seen a brand-new episode released on PS5. Of course, everyone could add to this list by recalling the countless hours spent alone or with friends. For us, the sheer creativity of the 90s remains an endless source of collectors’ editions, tribute books, and in-depth histories you love so much.
The PS1 was truly a revolution, with 104 million units sold, leaving its mark on an entire generation and gradually replacing the legendary Super Nintendo in gamers’ bedrooms and living rooms. A double dose of nostalgia, indeed!

Two anniversaries, two vibes, but the same emotion: these consoles transformed the way we play… and left behind not only unforgettable memories but also a true cultural heritage that we strive to preserve and bring back to life together, thanks to your support.
